c1 good morning, and it's 5:00 on the dot on this sunday morning. a minivan crashing in on several children. why neighbors say it could have been avoided. a man is in front of pheonix children's hospital, what he says happened, next. are you ready? in a few hours, this area could be covered in snow. be aware if you're headed down from the high country. >> downtown flagstaff, are they going to get snow? >> yes, we have already had an inch of snow there.

the national weather service to check everything there. look at abc 15 clouds and radar for us. that's dropping some snow, and we are seeing at least light activity in the flagstaff area, and most of the state in a lull for right now, and as far as the temperatures are concerned, most of us in the valley, low to mid-50s right now, and we are not going to bottom out too much more than this. the camera was shaking earlier, and valley wind speeds right now, and it was a precursor to the day today. you can see spots down in the valley, and we will keep our eye on this we will break down temperatures for sunday, hour- by-hour and tell you what to expect up north. >> we are tracking breaking news right now. crime scene tape up at pheonix children's hospital. you just spoke to police, what's going on there?

crime scene tape at pheonix children's hospital, and there was a gun shot victim found in front of the hospital, and he is telling police he was robbed and shot down the road off 36th street and thomas. then he flagged down the driver who brought him to pheonix children's hospital and dumped him in front of the hospital, and now police are investigating a story right now, and unable to verify his story. the victim rushed to good samaritan hospital, and he is in surgery right now. we are told his wounds are nonlife threatening. detectives will come back to the scene. they are out here to investigate exactly what happened with the man and who drove him here and just dumped him off here. still a the lot of answers to

also, breaking overnight, one man taken to the hospital after this bad crash here, and you can see his truck is pretty banged up. this is i-10 and 3rd avenue. the man should be okay. no word on what caused him to crash. another crash in west pheonix. near 47th avenue and indian school. at least two cars involved in this one here. several people checked out at the scene. our ca driver taking a field sobriety test. a minivan full of children crashed near 87th avenue and deer valley when a truck driver may have ran a stop sign. five children and two adults were inside of the van.

charges. jeffrey wilson accused of attacking a teen on the bridge. he grabbed the teen by the hair, pointed a gun at her, and sexually assaulted her. wilson pled not guilty. turning to democracy 2016, hillary clinton's campaign is making waves saying it will take part in the efforts to push for recounts in several key states. they are be joining green party candidate, jill stein who raised have a recount in wisconsin. the clinton campaign said they will not contist the results itself, but they will take part in the effort to ensure it's fair to all sides. meanwhile, donald trump is speaking out about that, calling it all a scam saying the people have spoken and the election is over. until now trump has ignored

recounts. the secret service is considering renting out a floor of trump tower because not all of the trumps are moving into the white house. trump will be splitting his time between the white house and trump tower. the going rate $1.5 million per year. it would be picked up by the taxpayers, and the secret service said nothing stone. while staying at trump tower may seem luxurious, that may not be the case. someone renamed trump tower in manhattan on goggle maps to dump tower. users started to notice the new name yesterday and took to social media to report it. we checked this morning and the name is back to normal. no word from google or president-elect donald trump. we have a lot to get to with weather here today.

rain chances as we get into the evening, and you can see by 6:00, the sun is kind of going down there, and then we will see it kick up in the rain chances for us in the valley. the futurecast here, and it's a broader view, regional, so we can see what is happening here. see the system is moving on in, bringing snow into the high country, and bringing rain chances into the state as well. we will see it better as it continues to move through. it's a fast mover, too, and we will cooler temperatures and as the system makes its way east, we are still going to see some of the temperatures take a dip. we are going to keep it cool for the next few days. below average, when we have been above average for so long. here's futurecast here, to really get a good look at the thing. continuing into the afternoon, we are looking out up north, where we will see the snow chances there, really developing, and the snowfall. right now, we could see 1-3

that in a second. with futurecast, look what happens as we continue into the evening. 8:00or 9:00, and at least with this model, we are thinking we will see widespread showers across the valley, and keep in mind, it's not expected to be a huge rainmaker, but a lot of us could see a shower or two. we will see a lull in the morning, and that's why i dropped the morning rain chances down a bit, and the clouds will just linger on as we get into the start of your workweek. what we are looking today, your winter weather advisory, and we talked about the entire state being clear, and everything in purple here is on here. stay alert. we could see continued snowfall with the system here. it looks like we will continue to hit the system there. the lull in the morning, but late morning into the afternoon, we will continue to see snowfall, really for a good chunk of the day.

with totals here. 1-4inches possible. the elevations of 5500 to 5600 feet. it's a quick-moving system as we mentioned. now something else we have to contend with to the north, the winds. look at this in the valley, we will see winds 10-20 miles an hour. the sustained winds, gusts stronger at 30 miles an hour. up north, the gusts could be stronger up to 40 miles an hour. combine with the snowfall, and the driving conditions will be treacherous up there keep in mind the lows across the state are finally lower than average. we will hit the 40s and 30s for us today in flagstaff. we look in the valley, and our highs are below average as well. it's 70 degrees. we are 7 or 8 degrees below that today. again, the late rain fall total, and take a look as we

i just got off the phone with the national weather service, and they have less than inch recorded there now. we will hit a lull this morning, and then steadier snowfall into the late morning and early after. for us today in pheonix, topping out at 63 degrees today. cooler, more clouds fusser as well, and we will be looking out for the breezes, and here's a breakdown of the rain chances. for us hour-by-hour, you can see throughout the morning, we don't cancel any sunday plans, but as we get into the afternoon, look at this. we could see the rain chances increase by 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, that's the best time right now, and keep in mind this is not expected to be a huge rainmaker. we will see light rain, most likely across the valley here for us, and then things will slowly caper off into tomorrow morning, and we do have a lying live on our roads right now, and we will toss it to mary

a lot of people are talking about our weather right now. what are you seeing out there? >> reporter: right now it seems pretty clear. i will flip my camera around, and we are headed to the i-17, and we are headed northbound to flagstaff, still in the pheonix metro area, and adot, we are already seeing the adot warning signs up above the freeway, saying there's a weather alert, and this is of course a travel corridor, and n big travel day, and this was thanksgiving weekend. we have a lot of travelers who headed up to their cabin in the mountains, and they will be coming home today, and they will be facing snow. started to snow in areas of flagstaff and prescott last night, and they have already got light snow in the areas, and according to adot, they want to let drivers know, there's a few things you want

he was reviewing another different. authorities are calling this an avoidable crime. at this spot in indiana, three people were hurt when a car crashed into it. somehow the driver lost control, and authorities are piecing together how it all happened no word if anyone will be charged with crimes. extra patrols continuing this morning. valley agencies are increasing their presence through the dui task force. they are working to make sure you and your family are safe after people make their way home on thanksgiving. >> families get together, and sometimes that's happening. you have seen over the last few days, there's been several dui- related trashes. >> the message from law

enforcement, drive hammered, get killed. it was a heart breaker of a funeral for one of the students killed in chattanooga, tennessee. records show parents and even the principal complained about the driver's conduct before the crash. police say one person is dead and another hurt after someone started to shoot yesterday it all happened near fort lawedderdale, and officers act the quickly evacuating the building and putting on lockdown for awhile. police say it's not random, but they are staying tight lipped this morning. stripped of police powers, that was the outcome for an officer who shot and killed a 19-year-old man in the back during a chase. a full investigation is underway. the sergeant was responding to a call before killing ray. ray pointed a gun at him twice,

a gun on him. the sergeant's identity has not been released. authorities said on saturday that an infant died during a protest, and according to police, the mother who was protesting noticed her baby was not breathing, and when medics arrived they rushed the baby to the hospital where she died. the cause of death is under investigation this morning. >> we reached down there, and she more or less had her hands up for someone to pick her up. >> an 8-month-old was found thrown from a crash, and when emergency workers arrived on the scene, the family was grief stricken looking for her. firefighters arrived and found her in a grate, not even crying. >> we go out so many times, and things are not okay. during the holidays here to have just a positive t feels good.

a thunderstorm so bad in australia, it's causing asthma attacks, and there's such a thing called thunderstorm as asthma. six people have died and six others are in critical condition. the storm knocked up pollen that can affect your lungs. some of the patients are reporting they have never had an asthma attack. in washington, dc, relief for the mental health crisis is stuck in the senate. lawmakers are pushing for change because families can't afford to wait any longer. >> it's cruel! it's abusive! it's third world wrong, immoral, and we are complacent about it. >> reporter: congressman tim

them coming in at 49. as we look at the wind speeds right now, you see most of us are at least measuring below 10 miles an hour. some spots out there stronger. we will typically see slightly stronger winds. with had rattling in the studios because of the gusts. see the gusts. up >> the grand canyon as well, the current temperatures in the 30s right now, and just below the freezing mark as well as flagstaff. to the east, 36 in winslow, and 54 in stafford. the rain and snow is coming across the state, and the breezy conditions here. we could see the winds in the

even stronger up north, and could see gusts at 40 miles an hour. here's something to show you that came down in the last 2 hours or. so national weather service with the wind advisory here as well. we could see gusts here between 40 and 50 miles an hour. we will top out at 63 degrees. 7degrees cooler than yesterday, and more clouds as well. we talked let's look at futurecast here, and we have already seen a little bit this morning, light snowfall in the flagstaff area, and that will be a small lull, and then they will get more snow late morning into the afternoon. for us, throughout the day, i think the cloud coverage will be the main thing we will look out for, and then into the evening here, 7:00 or 8:00, we will see more widespread rain across the valley, and keep in

be a huge rainmaker or flash flooding or anything like that, but we expect to see some rain showers across most of the valley for us here today while we keep an eye on the snowfall totals to the north, and then as the system moves on east, we will continue to see overnight into tomorrow accident light snowfalling out to the east and into the white mountains. look at tuesday morning, and we are going to clear off, and then down to the southeast, we will continue to see at least some chances rain there. the winter weather looking like this, the weather advisory for everything in purple. parts of the grand canyon, flagstaff, sedona and i know a lot of you are traveling through the area. with that snowfall and the high winds, flowing snow could make it difficult. here's what we are expecting as far as the totals there. jacob, lake, and prescott, 3-6

looking at forecast highs today. 51 in globe, and 60 california is a grande and cooler overall and below average for us. the highs will below average, and high 60s for most of us. upper 50s top the north valley. in the west valley, highs in the mid-60s and for us here, clear in the valley. and wickenburg will not climb out of the 50s tracking the hour-by-hour forecast, and we talked about forecast, the best chances of rain, around 7:00, 8:00, and we will taper off the chances into the overnight hours, and the temperatures will level off a bit, but we are not going to get too drastic as far as the lows are concerned. down to 62 tomorrow, and overnight lows are cool, that system moves on out, clearing the skies up, and we are sticking with cooler temperatures until another system comes our why.

maryellen resendez. we know the id of man shot and killed by police. 21-year-old derek adam, and authorities said they got a call about a suspicious vehicle near 175th avenue, and when an officer approached the white car, the police officer said adam was searching for something, and he was asked to show his hands, but he didn't. at one point he tried to speed off, and that's when the officer's arm was trapped in the window. the officer fired adam and hit and killed him. the officer was taken to the hospital and was released. he's expected to be okay. we expect to learn the officer's identity in the next few days. his job was to protect us from the flames but tomorrow a pheonix firefighter or former firefighter will face a judge on a sex allotted charge. jeffrey wilson attacked a teen around a bridge. police say he grabbed the teen by her hair, pulled her under the bridge, pointed a gun at
